Sunshine Youth Services

Sunshine Youth Services, Inc. is a youth-serving company established in Sunshine Youth Services operates six residential commitment programs in Central Florida for youth ages 9 to 18. Gulf and Lake Academy, a 105-bed program, provides specialized mental health treatment services for 45 adolescent males (Gulf Academy) and 60 adolescent females (Lake Academy). Riverside Academy is a 165-bed program that provides specialized substance abuse treatment services for adolescent males. Polk Halfway House is a 24-bed facility for males ages 10 to 14. Columbus Juvenile Residential Facility is located on East Columbus Drive in Tampa. The length of stay in the program ranges from nine to twelve months. Martin Girls Academy's operating capacity serves 30 ages 13-18 treating females with high risk & mental health disorders. All SIX are contracted to provide services with and receive referrals from the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. Program youth are provided a system of rehabilitative services in a therapeutic environment based on a restorative justice model that increases youth's accountability and competency development while ensuring public safety.
