With proprietary optical design and tracking mechanism, Sunventus achieves a concentrating efficiency 2.0 times than existing technologies. This is a world leading record that will boost the production of energy at a much more efficient pace, thereby reducing costs considerably. This breakthrough brings the possibility of solar concentrator applications into the built environment that would be more efficient, scalable to the peripheral of the building; and a technological bridge to bring medium grade heat sources (of 100ºC and more) that would otherwise be unobtainable with typical solar thermal collectors. This will allow for the possibility of bridging already matured processes (such as district heating, cooling, thermally driven air conditioning, industrial process heat, water desalination, power generation using ranking cycle, sterling engine, etc.) into the proximity of the built environment.
