Super School India

Super School India (SSI) is a Delhi-based education NGO addressing the most pressing education needs of the urban slum youth of India. SSI India focuses on topics that are key to a child's growth and development while ensuring she or he contributes back to India. Our first program, A for Angrezi, places emphasis on imparting children with skills that are relevant to securing a future role in the Indian economy. English speaking and digital skills are two good examples as these are basics required for most ‘white collar’ jobs. At the same time, we have to ask - what's a skilled boy if he can't respect women? What's a talented girl if she isn't aware of her rights? Therefore, the second focus for us is sex education which is covered under a variety of topics ranging from rationalising gender norms, menstruation, healthy relationships, respectful intimacy, consent, etc. Our mission is to develop a high level of skill in young children while creating socially responsible citizens.
