Superimpose Arc Superimpose Architecture is an award-winning international design practice with studios in the Netherlands and China. We create meaningful and sustainable spaces through architecture, master planning, interior, and exhibition design. Our work focuses on urban architecture and (interior) transformations, engaging with every layer of the existing context. Guided by a powerful set of strategies, we look beyond what is asked to uncover what is truly needed. By merging creative thinking with real-world insight, we deliver bold design that distills complex challenges into simple and powerful solutions. Our name, Superimpose, reflects how we design: by layering new ideas onto existing structures, communities, and histories. We work with contextual awareness and responsibility, always aiming to improve, protect, and sustain both natural and built environments. Transformation and reuse are central to our practice, as we believe that designing for the future begins with respecting what already exists. Our name also reflects who we are. Founded in 2015 by three partners with different backgrounds, Superimpose operates as a collective of designers from diverse cultural and professional origins. We embrace the idea of layering not only in our designs but also in the way we work. Different voices, disciplines, and experiences overlap and strengthen one another. This mindset extends beyond our studio walls and shapes how we collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, ensuring that every project benefits from a rich synthesis of perspectives and results in a clear and cohesive vision.
