Surf Fit Pilates

Surf Fit Pilates is based in Newquay, way down West, in beautiful Cornwall. Surf Fit is all about your physical longevity, keeping you doing the things you love for as long as possible as you get older. I teach STOTT Pilates, incorporating the latest physiological and kinaesthetic techniques to strengthen your core and your peripheral muscle groups, creating a low impact, high intensity exercise system, coupled with multi-planar mobility drills to keep you limber and supple. I’m a surfer, it’s my passion and joy, I’ve been doing it for around 25 years and it’s something that keeps my body and mind feeling young. The thought of not being able to get out into the waves and surf my heart out, fills me with sadness and I know I’m probably not alone. I’ve been practising Pilates since 2006 and I’ve never had a significant injury to my back, knees, or shoulders (despite my best efforts in the surf) and I put this down to my own Pilates practice. Pilates is for everyone, complimenting the things that you do for fun, whether that’s running, surfing, golfing, or rugby. Doing regular Pilates sessions will help you to gain functional strength, improved coordination, increased balance and flexibility, and decrease your chances of injury and back pain. You’ll gain greater awareness of your body and your posture, toning and conditioning your muscles to keep you moving and grooving for longer!
