Sustain Equity Group

Sustain Equity Group (SEG) is a nonpartisan national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to advance violence prevention and mitigate harm by collaborating with higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and government agencies. We aim to empower and uplift communities through community-led research, education, and training initiatives. SEG is committed to filling the significant gap in research involving black women and girls, aligning effective solutions with identified needs. We believe in moving black women from survival mode to thrive mode, thereby reducing violence and crime. Our ultimate goal is to establish a Research, Education, and Training (RET) Center, serving as a central hub for our partnerships with underserved communities. Sustain Equity Group recognizes the severe impact that many Black women encounter daily, from inequitable pay and limited educational or professional opportunities to higher incidences of abuse within domestic, public, and unjust policing circumstances. Through professional initiatives in which awareness and education are adopted, the Sustain Equity Group continues to work to bring transformation and empowerment into the lives of Black women.
