Swaravedika

Swaravedika, meaning "a platform for music" in Sanskrit, is a non profit organization founded, run by a group of talented Indian-American teenagers who met at a Telugu reality singing show called ‘Padutha Theeyaga’ (similar to ‘American Idol) Many children don't have access to the resources we have had and are unable to achieve their goals and aspirations because of it. So we founded Swaravedika with the intent of giving other children the opportunity to follow their passion just like we did. Since our inception in 2016 we were able to provide school supplies like uniforms, bags, books etc. to approx. 280 underprivileged kids in India spanning 30 schools.Members of our team had the opportunity to meet the kids and deliver the hand-made kits themselves.Our short term goal is to reach out to kids by 2018 summer and provide basic necessities and encourage them to go to schools. Starting in 2018, we are planning to initiate projects for schools to provide water coolers, toilets, computers, digital libraries, sports equipment etc. Our goal is to improve infrastructure for 100 schools in India by 2022. We also have plans to support kids education in USA starting in 2018. To fund these future projects, we are planning to conduct some local talent concerts in various states.
