Swedish Seaweed owns a regenerative Seaweed farming operation on the West Coast of Sweden. Founded in 2023 by four entrepreneurs from both the Netherlands and Sweden. The near-shore operation in Västra Götaland is aimed at growing Sugar Kelp (Saccharina latissima) in stable quantities and to a standardized quality, to supply to off takers in the value chain. Both local and international. We see the potential for seaweed to support in the major transitions our society is facing, amongst others the food and energy transitions. The uses for seaweed are: 1. Human Consumption / Culinary Uses 2. Nutritional Supplement 3. Animal Feed /Soil improvement 4. Biodegradable Products and plastics 5. Biofuel Production 6. Environmental Benefits, blue carbon and biodiversity improvement 7. Coastal protection and marine habitat creation. Cosmetics and pharmaceuticals 9. Medical Research
