The Sydney Photonics Industry Network (SPIN) is a community-driven initiative dedicated to connecting professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts in the Australia’s Optics and Photonics industry, with a primary focus on Sydney. Optics and photonics-enabled technologies have been revolutionizing essential aspects of our lives, such as communications, healthcare and manufacturing. By fostering a vibrant community that encourages the exchange of ideas, SPIN aims to further enhance the impact and potential of these innovative technologies. Founded by Dr. Katie Chong and Dr. Sarah Lau in 2021, SPIN is a completely volunteer-run organization on a per event basis. It strives to create a tight-knit community where professionals, researchers, and technology enthusiasts can collaboratively explore and expand the fascinating world of optics and photonics.
