Taara Projects

Taara Projects is a fashion social enterprise looking to do good for our planet and the people on it. We are perpetuating a cycle of positive environmental and social impact through employing artisans at the bottom of the income ladder and providing them with over a living wage; sourcing and using completely organic, naturally-dyed cotton material; and channeling a majority of profits towards a fund dedicated to investing in the communities and villages of our artisans, based on their stated needs. Our small batch production and inventory model enables us to minimize waste and have a fresh and dynamic rotation of products, determined and perfected primarily by customer feedback. Our brand and team hope to contribute to the advancement of conscious consumerism, such that it transitions from a movement to becoming a norm. This way, fast fashion is phased out and replaced by a standard of transparency, sustainability, and ethics in the ways brands operate and people shop. Ultimately, our goal is to fully live up to the name of our brand— Taara— which means 'star' or 'light' in Sanskrit, and to be a point of light for someone in need and for our Earth.
