Tabithas Compassion International

Tabitha's Compassion International (TCI) is a non-profit organization founded by Omar Foote in 2013 in order to reach as many people as possible with aid and the love of Jesus Christ. When picking a name for our non-profit, God lead Omar to a story of the only woman in the Bible to be called a disciple. Her name was Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas). Tabitha was always doing good and helping the poor.(Acts 9:36a[NIV]) She was known, in the town of Joppa, for helping and making clothes for the poor. Tabitha’s story is presented in Acts 9:36-42. In this passage Tabitha had passed away. The Apostle Peter prayed over Tabitha and God raised her from the dead. She was able to continue helping others with the love of God. Tabitha’s Compassion International reflects the story of Tabitha in two ways. We seek to help the less fortunate with physical and material aid. Secondly, and most importantly, we seek to help others with spiritual aid and direction. As God gave life to Tabitha’s deceased body, we seek to help those that are spiritual dead or lost to find God, that they may have a eternal life through Jesus Christ.
