Tactile Images

Tactile Images is a free e-learning platform that facilitates access to education for people with visual and learning disabilities. We use technology to create the infrastructure needed to democratize special education. Teachers and parents all over the world can join the e-learning platform to add custom captions to photos and tactile graphics. These can then be explored independently by people with visual and learning disabilities with a mobile app that indicates the position of the finger and speaks to them just like a specialist. The platform includes: LIBRARY: Contains over 800 tactile graphics with multilingual descriptions EDITOR: Module that allows teachers and parents to add custom descriptions to photos & tactile graphics DRAWING TOOL: Module that allows teachers and parents to easily create their own simplified drawings READER APP: Mobile app that acts as a specialist and empowers people with visual and learning disabilities to study independently TACTILE PRINTER: DIY project that allows teachers and parents to emboss graphics at home (work in progress) How can you support inclusive education?
