TAIS is building the food systems of the future: local, circular, and regenerative. We call it Recycloponics. Our systems recycle food that would otherwise be wasted in landfills. We provide recycling kits that allow businesses and homes to hygienically store their food scraps, including animal-based products, without generating foul odors or attracting pests. TAIS collects these food scraps and weighs them so recyclers can earn certificates that show how much they've recycled with us. Then we process those food scraps into compost that we use on our farms to grow nutrient rich organic food. Our produce is then returned to the same consumers that generated the food scraps, creating a virtuous cycle that mimics nature. This system sanitizes our kitchens and streets, alleviates our landfill crisis, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and contributes directly to Puerto Rico's food autonomy.
