Talabaya: A Fusion of European Elegance and Middle Eastern Inspiration in Luxury Fashion Talabaya is a fashion brand I founded in 2018, born from the extraordinary response my designs received in Saudi Arabia. A client for whom I crafted custom pieces became a true ambassador of my inspiration, bringing Talabaya to the global stage. My designs caught the attention of Alia Khan, founder of the Islamic Fashion and Design Council (IFDC), who invited me to present my first Talabaya collection at her prestigious Pret-a-Cover Buyers Lane event in Dubai that same year. This showcase opened doors to luxury pop-up shops, including BHV Marais in Dubai, Debenhams in Kuwait, BeYou Boutique in Dubai, and even the iconic Harvey Nichols in Saudi Arabia, where Talabaya was displayed until the COVID-19 pandemic. The name Talabaya merges part of my surname with “abaya,” an iconic luxury garment that exudes modesty and grace—qualities that have captivated me in fashion. This name embodies the essence of Talabaya’s philosophy: blending European style with luxurious materials and intricate detailing to create garments with timeless elegance. The post-pandemic era presented new challenges, but Talabaya embraced the opportunity to focus on bespoke luxury fashion, where each piece is a unique expression. My primary inspirations come from diverse global cultures, which I view as an inexhaustible source of creativity. Today, I integrate advanced technologies, including AI, into my design process, enabling me to craft intricate, detail-rich designs while staying true to the brand’s unique aesthetic.
