Talanta Institute

Talanta Institute is a Technical and Vocational Training Centre that seeks to transform the society through education, practical skills training and nurturing talents. Through an emphasis on practical skill training and market affiliation to get experience, Talanta Institute has managed to provide an experiential learning experience, which helps to bridge the gap that exists in the mismatch of the skills in trainees and the market requirement. The institute was an idea conceived by the visionaries behind Princecam Media Limited, a Film and Media production company that has worked with numerous talented youth in Kenya. The Institute began under the name Princecam Media Institute, and at the time was only offering Media and Film training, but the need to diversify and reach out to other talent areas and impart more practical skills prompted the rebrand to Talanta Institute. Talanta Institute now offers a wide array of courses in: • Media Studies (which includes broadcast journalism, camera operations, production management among others). • Film Studies (which entails film conceptualization and production) • Digital Marketing: It entails understanding digital technologies, concepts, strategies and their implementation in marketing. • Music Production and Sound Engineering • Graphic Design • Performing Arts: A program that focuses on dance, acting, vocal coaching, modelling, performed poetry, comedy performance amongst others. • Animation • Deejaying • Short Courses; A program that focuses on hands-on practical skill courses in Photography and Editing The courses are designed and rolled out in 3 programs, which are certificate, diploma and a school-based professional technical skill program. The skill training has allowed several trainees who have gone through the institute to start their enterprises or take up leading roles in their respective industries.
