Founded in 2012, Talking Drum Entertainment is a UK-based film company dedicated to bringing Black stories to global audiences. Starting with premieres and screenings backed by Odeon Cinemas, we have grown into a recognised producer and distributor of Black films. Our first in-house production, It’s the Blackness—the directorial debut of acclaimed actor Hakeem Kae-Kazim—is set for release, marking an exciting new chapter in our journey. Our catalogue includes standout titles such as Tango With Me, Wedding Party II and King of Boys, alongside a growing slate of projects including And the Spirit Slowly Dies and Who Owns the Law. As a member of the UK’s Film Distributors Association—alongside Warner Bros, Paramount and Disney—we combine industry expertise with a unique focus on films rooted in Black culture, history and lifestyle. Our mission is simple: to help filmmakers reach commercial success while ensuring audiences are entertained, inspired and informed.
