Talking Heads Supervision is the UK’s largest social enterprise dedicated to providing best practice supervision across the education sector, beginning with senior leaders. Established in 2018 by Lisa Lea-Weston, an HCPC-registered dramatherapist and supervisor with over 25 years of experience. Talking Heads vision is for all children and young people to attend education settings that are resourced, compassionate and creative places where they flourish. This begins with leaders being robustly supported in their role. Our team of experienced supervisors, each with between 3 and 30 years in the field, bring a deep understanding of the complex challenges faced by leaders in education. Regular supervision places a strong emphasis on leader well-being, recognising it as a vital component of safeguarding, understanding that a leader’s emotional and mental health directly shapes the culture, safety and effectiveness of the educational environments they lead. In addition to delivering supervision, we also provide training, grounded in the Integrated Model of Supervision in Schools. This model underpins our approach and enhances the effectiveness of supervision across a range of educational settings. We operate worldwide, delivering successful year-long pilot programmes in primary, secondary, and specialist settings, as well as within Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), and are also expanding through pilot partnerships with Local Authorities. We have found that those who begin the pilots continue once they have finished. At Talking Heads, we value strong relationships within our team. We meet monthly online, provide 6 weekly support spaces to all Associates and host bi-annual Associate Days to foster connection and collaboration. This mirrors our belief in the power of regular supervision because only through consistent, trusting relationships can we create the space for courageous, reflective conversations that prioritise the needs of children and young people.
