Tameside Rotary

Tameside Rotary has made a significant difference in the Tameside area making annual donations of approximately £20K to local charitable causes. We are friendly and informal, meeting 2nd Tuesday each month and, when possible, in different locations across Tameside. We have over 30 members, from all areas in the Borough; membership is open to all persons. As Rotary is International, there is a real opportunity for members to serve the wider world community; for example - Eye Hospital in Bangladesh working in partnership with Global Sight Solutions and Rotary Club of Sylhet Pride. Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland - part of Rotary International - has 1,800 clubs and more than members. Rotary clubs are open to persons of all ages who are business, professional or community leaders and who want to use their experience for the benefit of others. Rotary International (founded 1905 in Chicago) is the world’s largest international service organisation with 1.2 million professional people as members. There are clubs in 200 countries and geographical areas. Rotary runs countless humanitarian projects covering peace and conflict resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, economic and community development.
