Tankwell is the global market leader in the development and production of lightweight composite tank containers for bulk logistics of liquids. Due to the unequalled weight reduction, Tankwell lightweight tank containers enable a more efficient and sustainable transportation of liquids compared to conventional stainless steel tank containers:> 40% lower tare weight allows for a 1500 kg higher pay load and will reduce the number of shipments with more than 5%.> 40% improved thermal insulation results in reduction of heating and/or cooling in the supply chain. Both benefits of this new generation tank container reduce logistic costs and CO2-emission with 5 – 10%. About Tankwell Tankwell is the first company in the world to develop an ADR approved lightweight composite tank container. On the basis of a unique process for one-step filament winding of large composite pressure vessels, the world’s lightest tank container was introduced in 2015. Since then, over 450 units have been successfully put into operation by well-known liquid transport companies for use in both chemical and food supply chains. This game changing development is the result of close collaboration between Composite Production Technology (CPT) and Flax Field Europe: it unites advanced composite science and engineering, vast industrialization knowledge and over 50 years of collective experience in tank container engineering and application. The core competence of Tankwell is cross disciplinary innovation, to take full advantage of the opportunities that new composite technology offers and combine it with tank container market knowledge for the benefit of more efficient and sustainable liquid logistics. After a start at the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands based company started a small production site in 2014.
