Tar And Feather Records

Tar & Feather Records is the brainchild of Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Tom Laune. Laune moved to Nashville, TN in 1992 after beginning his career at Ardent Studios in Memphis, where he worked with greats like R.E.M. and Alex Chilton on some of their seminal albums. The following decade brought more critical and commercial success for Laune, as he engineered and mixed projects for artists as diverse as Bruce Springsteen and Mat Kearney and most recently Dave Barnes new record for Razor and Tie. In the past few years, however, Laune has shifted his focus to championing some of Nashville's most exciting indie artists: Milktooth, David Condos, Stephen Gordon, Charlie Hardin, and Seth Wood. To date, Laune has produced nine projects for these artists, all of which have been recorded and mixed at his private studio just outside of Nashville. Bridgeway Studio boasts a full SSL G+ Special Edition console and mountains of vintage gear, from an original pair of EMI mastering EQ's and a vintage Pultec EQP1-A to half-inch and two-inch analog tape machines, it has it all.
