Taskar Center For Accessible Technology
The Taskar Center for Accessible Technology (TCAT), housed by the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science at University of Washington, develops, translates and deploys open source universally accessible technologies, with a focus on benefiting populations with disabilities. TCAT's academic mission is to engage undergraduate design and engineering students in participatory design and inclusive design practices. TCAT currently has two foci: Access to Transportation and Mobility and Contextually Aware Responsive Environments. We are actively working on a novel technology translation framework called Team Translation, to overcome technology translation and deployment hurdles for technology products serving social good.
