Tau Journal Of Law & Social Change

Founded in 2008, Tel Aviv University Journal of Law & Social Change (Ma'asei Mishpat) seeks to provide an academic forum for discussing and examining various aspects of the relation between law and social change. A first of its kind in the country, the Journal is dedicated to the publication of articles which expose jurists and the general public to the burgeoning activities in the field of public interest lawyering. The Journal's articles typically explore, analyze and conceptualize such activities, and frame the knowledge and vocabulary which derive from it. Each year, the journal publishes scholarly contributions by practitioners, regulators, activists and legal scholars, both from Israel and around the world. The Journal is edited and peer-reviewed by an editorial board which consists of LL.B students, side by side with practicing lawyers, all under the supervision of the Journal's editors-in-chief, which are faculty members. Each issue contains approximately ten original major articles in Hebrew and one article which is authored by an internationally-renowned scholar and translated into Hebrew. The latest issue (number 9) will be released in January 2018. On the 10th anniversary of the journal, the editorial board decided to dedicate the 10th issue to a unique project called "Ma'asiyot Mishpat", which will tell the story of twelve precedent and significant rulings that have changed the face of the Israeli law over the years. This project draws inspiration from the series "Law Stories" published since 2003 by Press Foundation (now West).
