Te Rau Matatini provides a strategic focus that is underpinned by Māori workforce development, education, clinical and cultural capability and capacity for the advancement of indigenous health and wellbeing for our people and their communities. Māori whānau are our priority. Te Rau Matatini is commited to significantly improving the health of Māori. We believe that will contribute to the increased wellbeing of individuals, whānau and their communities. Whānau ora! Te Rau Matatini is also the National Centre for Māori Workforce Development. Our focus is on ‘nationally navigated and locally led’ solutions to Māori health and health workforce requirements. This is enabled by supporting Māori Health Leadership, designing innovative workforce solutions, delivering culturally relevant workforce training, and responding to the needs of Māori communities through innovative service design and research.
