Te Tahi Youth
Te Tahi Youth is a youth ‘one-stop shop’ for medical, sexual, and mental health services, as well as youth development and employment support to help Christchurch’s rangatahi find their way through life. And it’s all free. We’ve been here for young people since 1995. First as 198 Youth Health Centre, then 298. Today, we are Te Tahi Youth. A new name that better reflects the evolving nature of what we do and who we serve. We work with 10 - 24 year olds in Ōtautahi support them to be the best version of themselves. Our services include: Medical and Mental Health Services: Physical health/Taha tinana Mental health and trauma/Taha hinengaro, including addiction support Sexual health and contraception Prescriptions for common medications Medical certificates Tests and specialist referrals Gender affirming care Youth Development/Mentoring Support Services: Advocacy Life skills Navigating community support services Access to and support of education Budgeting skills Housing support Assistance to access financial support Employment Services for 15 – 24 year olds: Holistic, wrap around employment support to help young people into employment including work readiness support, training and post-employment support.
