Teachers Learning Centre (TLC) is an accredited ECD training provider with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and the Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA) Accreditation Number 10440. This means that TLC is certified to deliver training and assessments on qualifications and/or unit standards registered on the National Qualification Framework (NQF); and to award credits to learners towards a recognised qualification in ECD. TLC was established in 2008 by Lorraine Patterson and Marlene Allen. TLC is now headed up by Dr Jeni Calvert-Evers and Sandy Burmeister with its head office located at the READ EDUCATIONAL TRUST BUILDING in Ormonde - Johannesburg. Back then, TLC had just 30 learners while today we have over 600 learners being trained in at least 13 branches across the various provinces. Our vision is that every young child be assured of the best start in life - their future and indeed the future of their communities and our nation depends on it. We aim to support and promote quality ECD education to ensure that every young South African receives quality ECD services. Hence our primary commitment is to improve ECD delivery and performance in previously disadvantaged communities by providing access to those unqualified practitioners who have not had the opportunity to further their studies in ECD.
