We are proud to be part of aBAJA SAEINDIA, a national-level autonomous vehicle competition that challenges engineering students to design, build, and test an off-road buggy capable of Level 2 autonomy and beyond. We aim to develop an autonomous all-terrain vehicle capable of intelligent decision-making, obstacle avoidance, and safe navigation in unstructured environments. Core Capabilities of Our aBAJA Vehicle: • Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) • Obstacle Detection • Real-time Path Planning and Navigation System Architecture Highlights: • Onboard Processor: NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano for AI & perception • Control System: ROS 2 (Humble) powered modular software architecture • Sensors: RADAR, GNSS/IMU, wheel encoders, and camera modules • Drive-by-Wire: Custom EPS-based steering with absolute encoder feedback, longitudinal control through custom brake and throttle by wire mechanism for braking and acceleration • Simulation & Testing: Validated in IPG CarMaker and RViz environments Our development emphasizes real-time ROS 2 integration, sensor fusion, robust control systems (Stanley, PID), and a hardware-software co-design approach to bring a safe and reliable autonomous vehicle to the off-road terrain.
