Team Vauv

We are Vellore Institute of Technology's only Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) team. We are a team of engineering undergraduates spanning several disciplines who have independently designed, built, programmed an underwater vehicle. We aim to push the boundaries of underwater vehicle design with cutting edge technology and a work ethic rivalling professionals. SAUVC 2020 & 2025 – Qualified to compete at the Singapore AUV Challenge. Teknofest 2024, Türkiye – Achieved the highest Concept Design Report (CDR) score among Indian teams with 78 points, showcasing our strong design and technical vision. UVDC 2024, IIT Guwahati – Secured 5th place overall while competing against top national teams in the Underwater Vehicle Design Challenge. At UVDC 2024, we authored a technical paper on a conceptual ROV for the Challenger Deep, focusing on multi-modal sensing, image enhancement in low-visibility conditions, and pressure-resilient structural design. Teknofest 2025, Türkiye (Unmanned Underwater Systems Competition): We will be participating again and are ready to improve our performance.
