Tech Up Nation

Tech Up Nation is on a mission to create the technology leaders of the future by kick-starting the careers of local young people across the City with London’s ambitious, fast-growth tech businesses. This not-for-profit initiative is being led by Optimity, working in conjunction with the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES), The Mayor’s Fund for London, L&Q Foundation and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. It will link the community of London’s tech businesses with the community of young people in the local area, by:(i) Actively working with community groups, including schools, churches, mosques, youth clubs and housing associations in order to create a sustainable and scalable talent pipeline of young people who aspire to a career in technology. Without this initiative many of these individuals would not have any route to a career in this sector.(ii) Training those skills required by tech businesses using a new apprenticeship standard that is entirely based on the needs of those Pooling the jobs of ambitious, fast-growth businesses that is fed by a talent pipeline with the relevant skills vital for their success. What makes us different? Employer Led training – Our companies take ownership of, and influence, the training course that an apprentice does. A way to scale up your business and nurture new talent. Expert help – we provide bespoke support to businesses that ensures they have a successful structure for accommodating apprentices.
