About TEDx, x=independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. About TEDxAthens Founded in May 2009, TEDxAthens -a proud member of TED’s independently organized TEDx events program- is the first TEDx event in Greece and one of the first 10 licensed worldwide. Over 15 years, it has grown into a leading platform for inspiring bold discussions, exchanging groundbreaking ideas that can change everything, and empowering communities. With more than 400 talks viewed over 18 million times online, TEDxAthens stands as the most impactful platform for ideas in Greece and the Balkans. More than attendees have joined TEDxAthens events, through the years, exploring themes like “Uncharted Waters,” “The Great Unknown,” and, in 2024, “X Machina” that marked its 15th anniversary, attracting more than 2,500 TEDxTers and 3,100 livestream viewers and celebrating the intersection of technology, art, and human creativity.
