Tedxpenn

TEDxPenn is a nonprofit student organization dedicated to empowering individuals through ideas. It holds the only license at the University of Pennsylvania to host TEDx events and conferences. Founded in 2010 by students, it aims to foster an environment for spreading ideas, with live speakers and TEDTalks videos, serving as a means to inspire deep discussions and connections between individuals with various backgrounds. It also hopes to challenge its community to think critically and be motivated to make a positive impact on our world. Recent speaker highlights include: • Vijay Kumar, Penn's resident drone expert whose 2015 talk has garnered over 1 million views • Jeff Beal, the composer behind the music of Netflix's "House of Cards" • Dan Huh, a Penn professor whose cells-on-a-chip may soon change the pharmaceutical industry • Jack Park, a Penn alumnus whose suicide attempt revealed the importance of love and self-motivation • Laura Sicola, a Wharton lecturer whose 2014 talk on leadership linguistics boasts over 2.5 million views
