Tegawende Fellowship Program

The Tegawende Fellowship Program (TFP), officially launched in 2023, is a transformative leadership initiative that identifies and mentors outstanding young Africans, equipping them with the knowledge, networks, and opportunities to become global changemakers. The idea of the program was born from a simple yet powerful observation: many young people from Francophone Africa, despite their skills and aspirations, feel excluded from global platforms and opportunities because of language barriers and lack of access to information. We believe this exclusion limits not only the potential of individuals but also Africa’s collective contribution to the world. Since its creation, the Fellowship has received over 200 applications each year, from which only 10 to 20 fellows are selected through a rigorous and competitive process. In just two years, more than 25 fellows have already secured fully funded scholarships at world-class universities in China, France, Egypt, Türkiye, South Korea, Brazil, and Morocco. The Tegawende Fellowship was therefore created to bridge this gap, ensuring that talented francophone youth have the same opportunities to compete, thrive, and lead on the global stage. At the heart of our philosophy is the conviction that cultural difference is a strength and that everyone has a rightful place in the international community.
