Tenth Muse Initiative

Tenth Muse Initiative is a Boorloo-based collective founded by early-career musicians. While borne out of frustration with the lack of diversity which can be a mainstay of art music, TMI is now looking for the light, and showing the way. In the last 3 years, they’ve held an award-winning Fringe Show; commissioned new works by emerging composers; and held concerts centred around everything from opera to cups of tea. All with the goal of highlighting the diversity that already exists in classical music, creating a platform for new voices, and designing concerts which make classical music welcoming and engaging. TMI’s debut opera The Priestess of Morphine triumphed with sold-out shows and 5-star reviews.
