When it all comes down to it, I have been a teacher for most of my life. Even though it may look as if I was a translator, an IT specialist, a bookkeeper, an airline ticketing agent, … ultimately I always seemed to find some element of that job that requires teaching. There’s no denying that urge within me, I suppose. That is one of the reasons why I’ve been successfully filling positions that involved a certain level of empathy and flexibility, merged with the knowledge I hold and am ready to pass on to others. The same applies to my other line of work as a Professional Declutterer and Organiser, which – if you care to look closely – involves a good amount of teaching new skills and making my clients understand why they need to embrace new habits in order to move forward. Teaching user-end software is no different in that respect. Of course, there is the technical aspect of software and its practical application, but my experience in legal environments also tells me that a good part of the battle is won by making sure that participants understand just WHY they are supposed to learn this particular subject!
