Tharollo Ea Metsi

Tharollo ea Metsi is a specialist water and wastewater treatment process design firm in South Africa, with an in-house Civil and Structural Department covering water-retaining structures, stormwater management, and mine water infrastructure. Tharollo ea Metsi means "Solutions in Water" in Sesotho. We design wastewater treatment plants the process, the civil and structural infrastructure around them to still work decades after we have walked away — not just on commissioning day, not just for the client who funded it. For the community downstream. The environment receiving the effluent. The process controllers who run the plant every day. We design. We do not build or supply equipment. Where design and build must be delivered together, we lead turnkey solutions through partner contractors. Design remains our core. Key features * Specialist wastewater process design — activated sludge, MBR, MBBR, gravity-optimised systems * Civil and structural engineering for wastewater treatment plants — reactor tanks, water-retaining structures, pump stations * Stormwater management and mine water infrastructure — pollution control dams, tailings storage facilities * Structural design, investigations, and condition assessments * Green Drop, WULA, and EIA compliance support, Waste Management Licence applications * Sludge handling and management design, plant refurbishment and upgrade design * Process controller and management training * Turnkey solutions through partner contractors Our positioning: appropriate technology for African conditions, energy efficiency, resource recovery, long-term robustness, and equipment Process Controllers can actually run when something goes wrong on a Sunday morning. Compliance is the goal. We are the specialists that other specialists call. Water is life. And we live for water.
