The Amanda Truth Project

Founded in 2009, the Amanda Truth Project was created with a multi-purpose and dedicated objective: to educate communities about the potential for misdiagnoses of child abuse, to extend emotional support to families who are wrongly accused, and to facilitate access for their attorneys to the medical experts who might ensure that the truth is discovered, hopefully allowing the successful reunification of the family through the return of children from foster care and obtaining not guilty verdicts if charges aren't dismissed. Above all, we wish to promote the practice of evidence-based medicine before doctors issue a medical opinion of child abuse, thereby ensuring one day these infants and toddlers will not die because of inadequate prevention or treatment that might have otherwise been available had the real cause of these injuries been determined.
