The Amco Foundation

The AMCO Foundation is an African-Led, not for profit social enterprise, with a focus on STEAMD (Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics and Design). We discover and harness talent in Africa through projects, competitions and the provision of Small Grant Awards (SGAs) on research projects that have been identified as being of interest or having commercial merit. AIMS 1. To identify and bolster research and development in the STEAMD (Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics and Design) areas, via the provision of Small Grant Awards (SGAs) on specific projects that have been identified as being of interest or having commercial merit. To help grow local industries; We seek to help foster innovation in areas and sectors that have the potential to uplift the economies of African countries - whilst simultaneously maximizing social good for African citizenry at large. To provide visibility (on the world stage), to research work being done in Ghana, the sub-region, and the continent; To enable institutions providing tertiary education on the continent of Africa, to demonstrate recognisable contributions to burgeoning fields of research on the world stage. MISSION STATEMENT To discover and nurture African talent, and to harness said talent, into bringing about sustainable, equitable socioeconomic change in Africa. VISION STATEMENT A world in which African countries are able to discover, nurture and fully harness the human ingenuity and talent of their citizenry, and transform that into vibrant, robust, thriving, self-sustaining and above all - equitable businesses that provide meaningful jobs, careers and fulfilling livelihoods for all it’s peoples; growing economies that benefit and empower all.
