We at The ARKGroup believe that kids who feel loved do better! The ARKGroup's award-winning parenting programs, in Spanish and English, deliver online and in-person training to help adults relate to kids in positive, supportive ways and build the child's self-esteem. Building a child's self-esteem is of critical importance because the way a child feels about herself is how the child will relate to the world around her. At home and at school, if a child has a poor self-image and feels badly about himself, he probably is going to behave badly and mistreat those around him. On the other hand, if a child has positive feelings about himself, those feelings will be reflected in his interacting in a kind and positive way with others. The child's worldview is a matter of self-esteem. A Harvard study shows that, if a child receives unconditional love and care from just one caring adult, it will help the child be resilient and will exert a positive impact on the child's life trajectory. That study summarizes The ARKGroup's mission. The ARKGroup provides state-approved programs where- teachers can receive their CPEs and/or CEUs- daycare/childcare providers can earn state-certified clock hours- divorcing parents can register for our judge-mandated parenting course and receive a Certificate of Completion. The ARKGroup was established in 1992 by President and Founder, Dr. B. Glenn Wilkerson. Wilkerson is nationally recognized for his work in elevating the social-emotional health and creating positive self-concepts in children. He is an innovative leader in helping schools address the problem of school violence. A published author and prolific speaker, Wilkerson's research-based materials are widely shared in schools, churches, prisons, and community service organizations. Dr. Wilkerson's books include "Trekking: Searching for Love and Self-Esteem","If Jesus Had a Child", and "Reflections on Mortality: Insights into Meaningful Living". ARK LOVES KIDS!
