The Artisan Lab

The Artisan Lab was created in Rwanda to empower marginalised communities through the sale of their intricate artisanl basket-weaving, whilst ensuring that our clientele are fully aware of where the custom made product (s) is coming from, how it's made and who it is made by. We work with cooperatives and similar organisations that help these communities, notably women, who are young mothers or women who have been affected by violence. We also seek to promote and collaborate with local and independent artists, designers and musicians whilst intertwining their work with more traditional artisanal pieces or art. We look to ensure our products, and those of our collaborating artisans and artists, are coming from sustainable resources as well as upcycling items of clothing and accessories.
