In this first phase of care, the main goal is to reduce your pain/symptoms. This will usually require 3-4 treatments, most often 5-7 days apart. This will vary from person to person depending on the type and severity of your condition. CORRECTIVE CARE You want to be pain free, but you also need a healthier back. You want increased mobility, better posture & more confidence with your back. You want to know that your that your back won’t let you down again. Stopping treatment as soon as your pain is relieved increases the chance of your symptoms recurring. In order to prevent a rapid recurrence of your symptoms you would be advised to continue receiving care, for a short period of time, in order to treat the underlying problem that preceded the onset of your pain. This may take a further 1-2 treatments but is often achieved in the same initial 3-4 treatments taken to relieve your pain. WELLNESS CARE You don’t want that pain again! The BackCare Clinic will help you maintain your back in the best possible, pain free, condition. Although the BackCare Clinics’ focus is to alleviate patients’ pain, it is also focused on trying to help prevent problems from recurring. Prevention is indeed better than cure! And maintenance is the key to healthy living and freedom from pain. Treatment at approximately 3 monthly intervals is usually an appropriate time frame for preventative care.
