Combat veteran couple start Columbia, SC’s first balloon and party décor store Two veterans of combat in Iraq, forced into medical retirement by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, are making their comeback as "The Balloon Squad" opening a first-of-its-kind balloon and party décor store in Columbia, South Carolina. Bryant and Sheila Fluker found a new appreciation for life as the Balloon King and Queen and founders of The Balloon Squad LLC. They’ve also found an outlet that allows them to share their love for balloons and party décor and bring joy to their community at the same time. The Flukers are passionate about balloon décor. Their facility – two connected buildings, one the retail store and the other, a party venue – boasts the largest selection of latex balloons in Columbia. The company, which had its grand opening in August, supplies party decorations for any event from baby showers to birthday parties to graduations to corporate events. Their motto is “If you celebrate it, we decorate it.” The Balloon Squad team consist of talented balloon artists that have a passion for creating stunning decor for any type of event. Members have accredited Certified Balloon Decor Designers, which means they have passed a series of written and hands-on exams confirming their knowledge of everything from design theory to special advanced designs. The staff can provide balloon and party décor services all across the country but their primary focus is South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. As a member of the international Pro-Environmental Balloon Alliance, they continually deliver high-quality supplies to clients while keeping an environmentally-conscious attitude.
