The Barn Foundation

The Barn Foundation has been set up in order to address various different objectives. Although Franschhoek is one of the wealthiest areas in South Africa, there are many under-privileged people living amongst this wealth, who are economically, spiritually and opportunity deprived. These issues were the basis of The Barn Foundation that would address all of these issues, and provide solutions and hope – and ultimately make a difference. THE BARN FOUNDATION VISION 1. Offer spiritual guidance, teaching and practical implementation 2. Institute an agricultural project that not only teaches, but provides the land and resources to provide an income to various selected community members 3. Provide a multi-functional venue through which the worship, learning and gathering could take place. Provide skills and guidance on various different initiatives supported, in order to provide opportunities 5. Build a collective leadership for the project in order to represent and manage the organisational purpose and brand, as well as the objectives. Create “moments of impact” that the community can benefit from on various levels, all underpinned by Christian based teachings CURRENTLY TO DATE: 1. The Barn Foundation is in the process of building a multi-functional venue – which is in the final stages of completion 2. A connection has been established with the Durbanville Baptist Church, and church services are being held every Sunday, with visiting pastors presiding 3. The first agricultural tunnel has been constructed, with the second in progress – utilising the format and teaching of the ‘Farming God’s Way’ concept, with their unique agricultural methods 4. Various fund raising initiatives are being implemented, in order to activate each aspect of the project 5.
