The Bostey

The Bostey is a neighbourhood youth project based in Walker and has been a big part of the community for over 60 years. Up until September 2019 the youth service was operating from the original John Boste Youth Centre, which was a purpose built in the 1940’s. In January 2020 we moved into our new purpose built youth space (on the same site at the original youth centre) to continue our delivery. The Bostey is about bringing children and young people together from all walks of life, to share experiences and develop friendships, support networks and encourage cohesive community. Our aim is support children and young people to realise their potential, which in turn supports the core of our work. We work with children and young people to identify new and stimulating opportunities and experiences that help build both their confidence and self-esteem. We also support the development of young people’s wider interests and needs.
