The Bragg Centre For Materials Research

The Bragg Centre for Materials Research at the University of Leeds seeks to inspire creativity and diversity by bringing together scientists and engineers across a wide range of disciplines to work across six core research themes, pursuing both fundamental and applied research. Established in 2018, we host a community of over 300 members from across 16 schools, spanning disciplines as varied as engineering, food science and dentistry. The Centre hosts six core facilities within the state-of-the-art Sir William Henry Bragg building, with capabilities from fabrication at the atomic scale to the high spatial and temporal imaging of organic and inorganic materials. Collaborating with industry, policy makers and local authorities to develop new insights and solutions for innovative products, devices and applications. We also provide world-leading experimental and analytical facilities to understand and build materials from the atomic to the macro-scale. As a founding partner of the Henry Royce Institute, the UK’s national institute for advanced materials research and innovation. Specialising in the 'Atoms to Devices'(A2D) theme, in partnership with the Universities of Cambridge, Leeds, Manchester and Imperial College London.
