The Budget Helper
My major purpose in life is to make personal financial management easier, more efficient, and more effective every day. Why? Because I’ve been in a position where I knew I didn’t know where I was, or where I was heading financially, and I wanted to know. I researched and looked for tools that could help me see where I was heading, and the best I could find was a budgeting app, or a budgeting program here and there. These things only asked me to come up with monthly goals or targets for the month, but I wanted to see where I was going, not just guess what the next 30 days “should” look like. “Should” look like? “If I knew that I wouldn’t need an app”, I told myself. No! I wanted a map of the future. A map that could show me what was ahead, and further ahead. I WANTED TO KNOW AND SEE WHERE I WAS GOING! So, over the next few years I worked on creating my own map, and after many trials and errors I created what I was looking for. A map of my financial future as it stood today. That’s when I realized what I’d created. What I created was not just a map, but a navigation system that allowed me to see the future and change it. Of course, I would have to adjust as life threw the occasional stumbling block, as she so loves to do, but then I learned to allow and prepare for her unexpected visits along the way, which made traveling easier because I was now expecting, and prepared for, life and her games. I knew she was coming to take some, like it or not, so I made sure to put away a little extra just for her. Surprisingly, she stopped coming by so often, either because I took the fun out of it by being willing and able to pay when she came, or because I stopped noticing her every little insignificant visit. Either way, life got a lot easier, which resulted in a much more enjoyable experience for me.
