The Can Makers

The Can Makers is the UK trade body representing beverage can manufacturers. We are part of the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association which represents the UK metal packaging industry. The Can Makers and MPMA form part of a European network set up under Metal Packaging Europe (MPE), which includes similar country organisations across Europe. Members work together specifically to promote the benefits of the beverage can and aid communication between the industry and its customers: brewers and soft drinks manufacturers, retailers, the packaging industry, media and consumers. Members are manufacturers Ball Beverage Packaging Europe, Crown Bevcan UK and Ardagh Group, and their raw materials suppliers AkzoNobel, Sun Chemicals, Inx International UK Ltd, PPG Industries and Sherwin-Williams. The UK is the largest beverage can market in Europe, with over 9.7 billion cans shipped each year from UK can manufacturing plants. The drinks can is the most recycled drinks container on the planet, offering a viable sustainable packaging option for drinks.
