The Cedar School

The Cedar School is a co-ed day school serving high school students, grades 9-12, in the Fairfield, Westchester County, and New York area. We offer a college-prep program for bright students with mild-to-moderate Language-based learning differences (LBLD), such as Dyslexia, and challenges with Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Executive Functioning (EFD), Auditory Processing (APD), and ADHD. Our program is designed for students with a discrepancy between their academic achievement and intellectual abilities in one or more areas such as reading, writing, oral expression or math. The school will- Focus on individual student learning strengths and gifts - Employ intensive, research-based instructional support for learning needs, such as Orton-Gillingham, and other programs - Provide appropriate accommodations and adaptations to allow all students to access a rigorous curriculum of high academic standards - Ensure a highly individualized and personalized instructional attention through small class sizes and carefully designed individual learning plans
