Sponsored by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero we are responsible for managing the effects of past coal mining, providing mining information and property search services, licensing coal mining operations in Britain and providing a 24 hour emergency service for public safety hazards. We are committed to structured research and development; protecting the environment through genuine innovation in mine water and gas treatment schemes. The future of the Authority is in the development of new engineering solutions in subsidence and the continued development of environmental projects to reduce the effects of mine water pollution.
