The Cooking Academy

The Cooking Academy is a cookery school based in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire with locations throughout the South East. It is dedicated to teaching both consumers and corporate clients to prepare and cook tasty, healthy and nutritious food that can be shared with family and friends, in a fun and enthusiastic way. We place great emphasis on creating tasty and flavoursome dishes for every occasion, cuisine and every level of cookery. In the corporate market The Cooking Academy works with organizations to deliver nutritional and employee wellbeing solutions. We have a range of nutrition programmes, which are tailored to meet a company’s particular employee wellbeing strategy. In addition, we run highly successful team building events for blue chip corporates and business. We offer consultancy on consumer insights for food, new flavours and products, helping companies stay ahead of food trends and thinking. Kumud Gandhi is the founder and CEO of The Cooking Academy and it is her philosophy of combining of food science, nutritional value and great taste that has driven our approach to teaching. Her mantra is “Our point of difference in the vastly crowded market is that we put ingredients and their beneficial properties at the heart of everything we teach.” So in our classes we explain the chemical composition, Ayurvedic and herbal values of food. We design recipes that are nutritionally rich, visually appealing, and taste divine. The Cooking Academy has a worldwide reputation for specialist food teaching and highly authentic cookery classes. In addition to the cookery classes we run at the Academy, we also teach in schools, have specialist cookery classes for children, run corporate cookery events, teach specialist cuisine to other chefs, and provide a consultancy service for food manufacturers.
