The Darwin Centre

The Darwin Centre for Biology and Medicine is a charity based in Pembrokeshire, aiming to engage and enthuse young people, families, and communities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). It was founded by Professor Tony Campbell in Cardiff in 1994 before relocating to Pembrokeshire in In 2005 Dragon LNG came on board as our core sponsor and partner. This enabled the charity to further open up access to experts in the STEM industry and to deliver hundreds of hands-on field trips and experiential workshops through the Dragon LNG Darwin Experience, engaging with over participants per annum. Every educational facility in Pembrokeshire has access to free field trips and workshops, working on themes such as rocky shores, climate change, ocean plastics, our solar system and coding. Events for families and community groups run each year alongside the schools programme, including public lectures, rock pooling, pond dipping and fossil hunts.
