The Eight Effect

The Eight Effect is a Black women-led consultancy and creative studio aligning vision with action to build more equitable communities. We empower historically underrepresented individuals through leadership development and culturally grounded storytelling. Our flagship programs, Board Bootcamp and Studio 8, equip community members to lead on nonprofit boards, commissions, and committees, and to shape narratives through media. Board Bootcamp increases diversity in civic leadership by training emerging leaders. Studio 8, housed in Evanston’s Black-owned wellness hub The Aux, produces media projects that uplift local voices. Inspired by the boldness we had as 8-year-olds, before the world told us what we couldn’t do, we help people reconnect with their power and drive meaningful change.
